Steve Fox's father
[edit]Although pure speculation, my best guess as the biological father of Steve fox would be Kazuya Mishima. The scar on Steve's arm is very similar to the scar obtained by Kazuya after being thrown over the cliff by Heihachi, Other physical traits would be the semi Mishima/Kazama male haircut with Nina's blond traits.
The cryo sleep project was conducted during Kazuya's rein as head of the Mishima conglomerate (end of Tekken 2) before Heihachi's return, it was also Kazuya who kidnapped Doctor Boskonovich to carry out genetic research purposes.
Anna is known as one of Kazuya's bodyguards during the second tornament, and she successfully prevented Nina from killing Kazuya, it is possible Anna then handed Nina over to Kazuya and Doc B for the cryosleep experiment, as it is very doubtful Nina would participate in the experiment willingly.
The Mishima family is known for its blood ties, Heihachi wanted the perfect successor to the Mishima conglomerate, it is also possible due to Kazuya's upbringing that he wanted to "breed" the perfect successor using a worthy combatant, I believe Kazuya would consider Nina, a cold and powerful killing machine to have suitable genes as his own for creating a child as strong and ruthless as the Mishima’s previous lineage.
- You reckon the father is Kazuya? I reckon you have got too much time on your hands. Why the hell would Steve's father be another famous Tekken character? --Mr.bonus 17:17, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
Why not? Jin is the offspring of two major characters! Somehow I feel namco are trying to develop Nina's character more and involving her within the mishima bloodline would be an easy option.
- Although it is likely that Kaz is the father, the clues presented to us aren't realistic at all. You don't biologically inherit scars or hair styles from your parents, haha! And for that reason, the father could still be anyone. Maybe we'll find out something in Tekken 6. I hate that they totally abandoned this very crucial storyline. Byxbee 23:45, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
Has it slipped everybody's minds that Steve Fox is actually NOT Japanese?! He's a blond Caucasian, which would be virtually impossible if he had such recent Oriental ancestry as a Japanese father. I have met half-Caucasian half-Oriental people before and they do not have blond hair and blue eyes, they look mostly Oriental. 80.47.191.224 17:25, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, what world are you from? Someone who still uses the term "oriental" to describe someone in this day and age is pretty ignorant. We all know he doesn't look Asian in the least bit, but we also also know human beings don't transform into black wing and horned devils (Jin!). This is the world of Tekken we're discussing, where reality ends and juggles begin. Anything's possible. Well, anything that the game makers come up with next. Byxbee 05:27, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
Don't be a moron! Maybe in America the word "Oriental" is offensive, to be honest I don't really care because I'm not American. Here in Britain the term "Asian" is used exclusively for Indian and Pakistani people, so we use "Oriental" to refer to people from the Far East (i.e. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese etc.) and it is NOT considered offensive. So perhaps the misunderstanding comes from your ignorance! 80.47.191.224 12:26, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
- I am realizing that we are getting way off topic, so I just want to be brief and say I am well aware of the term's use in the UK, but it's just barely considered neutral there. Anyways, back to the babydaddy discussion. Maybe the father is a character that hasn't been introduced yet, and will probably be revealed in the future. Tekken sure loves its family ties. Byxbee 02:17, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
Erm well I think I ought to know, actually living in the UK and all! It is a perfectly acceptable term here. Did you know the term you used, "Asian", is also considered by some to be offensive? Why don't you try reading the usage note and discussion on wiktionary for oriental before you start casting aspersions and judging people like a sanctimonious jerk? 80.47.175.9 13:33, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
Improve the character analysis
[edit]Im not an expert in this, Can anyone make a better character analysis of their fighting styles, similar to the soul calibur articles.
Right now, Nina's article just list the characters personality and a small foot note that she is a good grapler, Please expand. I hope all characters get an improved definition of their fighting styles .
- Personally, I'm against that sort of thing. I don't really even like the articles as they exist in Soul-related articles. It's all popular opinion and, for the most part, conjecture. Wikipedia is not a gaming guide and exists solely to include encyclopedic information--not gameplay tips, play strategies, or things of that nature. King Zeal 16:09, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
The info is informative. I'm sure that's what this site is for. - The 4th Snake
- All information is "informative". That's not the point. If you made a trivia statement which stated "Nina is a natural blonde", that would be informative. Would it be relevant? Would it be encyclopedic? Not in my opinion.
- I agree, I also find the character analyses helpful and informative. I don’t really see how they are mostly opinion and conjecture. For example, I could say that Nina has some of the best okizeme and poke attacks in Tekken 5, and from a competitive player's perspective, that’s fact. It’s also important to clarify that an analysis of a character’s fighting abilities is entirely different from giving ‘gameplay tips [and] play strategies’.
- it's a very thin line between the two. Frankly, it's not up to us to tell people how a "competitive player" would play with the character. Competitive players come in all shapes and sizes. Some people like to play aggressively with Craig Marduk. Conversely, some like to turtle with Ling Xiaoyu. Not every player uses the same tactics. Saying a character has "the best poking attacks" is opinion. Sure, frame-wise, Nina is considered a safe character with tons of advantageous poking skills, but again, that's because of popular opinion. Tier structures constantly shift and change. It's not worth putting into an encyclopedia. King Zeal 17:55, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
I meant it's good info. Couldn't think of a better word.- The 4th Snake
The New Images
[edit]I love that we got a lot of new images but can we clean the layout up a bit, putting them in boxes perhaps, they look very out of place and the captions run into the main articles. - I Am Me
I can put them in boxes. Someone else will have to sort out the layout. - The 4th Snake
Yeah, could you box them please? They do look very unprofessional at the minute and cluttered. - I Am Me
I've boxed them. Like I said, someone else will need to sort them out. They run down the right side of the page. - The 4th Snake
I'm sure someone whith the know-how will do it. The images look a lot better boxed at least. - I Am Me
Okay, sice I tried and couldn't get it to look right, I kept all the images but rearranged them. There didn't need to be and image in each section of history so I spread them out a bit. - I Am Me.
Good job. The Tekken 3 pic and its text is perfect in "Appearance". - The 4th Snake
Yeah I thought so too. Thanks. - I Am Me.
- Guys, I hate to keep being a buzz-kill, but the picture setup is still just awful. Are these pictures properly sourced and all? Because if not, Wikipedia will delete them in seven days or more. Also, can you reduce the size of the images? They don't all need to be the same size. Also, why is it necessary to show Nina in EVERY outfit she's had since the start of the series? The original Nina and the current would be just fine. I've deleted the pics for now until that stuff is straightened out, but I'm not against having them on the page if they can be better arranged and moderated. King Zeal 17:54, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
Well I didn't upload them, it was done a few days ago. - I Am Me.
I uploaded the images, but I did not have the time to arrange them neatly, I can't give them a source as I downloaded them over a number of years, and I don't keep track of my internet activities. I have now added only 2 pics to the article one of the original Nina from Tekken and the one of her from Tekken 3. I hope that people are happy with the layout, It was not my intention to show Nina in every outfit she wore. But I have reposted those 2 photos mentioned earlier, as they are significant photos and currently don not look untidy. Oh I'm going to shut up now. Eemo crash
We need a pic in "Appearance". Probably her best known appearance. - The 4th Snake
Richard Williams Pic?
[edit]Is this him? http://www.tekkenforces.com/coppermine/displayimage.php?album=2&pos=31 I would have put this in the other Tekken characters page but there isn't a discussion there. - The 4th Snake
It is, yeah. - I Am Me
I'll put it in his section in other Tekken characters then. - The 4th Snake
Death by Degrees pic
[edit]I noticed that it wasn't working so I added a new one. It's the one from the opening and cover. - The 4th Snake 18:12, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Nina GRAY.jpg
[edit]Image:Nina GRAY.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Trivia
[edit]This article is full of useless trivia. I'm going to sort this out and create a separate section. LOTRrules (talk) 18:50, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- Sorted out most of the mess. LOTRrules (talk) 19:46, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- Wait, how are Endings trivia, but a list of Nina's various ages not? King Zeal (talk) 19:58, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- Wikipedia states that you are not supposed to state the endings of a game - this is moderately done through the plot. Heavy concentration on just ending alone provide gameguiding - which lead back to trivia. Another thing, her age marks an incident where she got pregnant and would explain why she suddenly is 40+ years old vis a vis relates to plot. However I'm going to research this further if we all want this to get to GA status - it's not even a start-class article. So trivia sections are a big no-no. They belong in the Media section. Revealing plot details like endings in one section of the article is against Wikipedia policy unless its the main game article itself - but that is a different story. No gameguiding is allowed. LOTRrules (talk) 21:19, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- That's the first time I've heard anything about that. Can you link me to the policy itself? However, that still does not justify an entire section to explain Nina's age. It's something that can be explained within the plot section itself. All you need to do is integrate it into that section. King Zeal (talk) 21:22, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

- Okay I will intergrate that but leave it up there so I can blend it in. By the way why did you copy-edit the bottom section? It should be in past tense since she did star in the game - plot details should be written in proper prose. LOTRrules (talk) 21:25, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- Are you sure about that? I thought that fictional works were supposed to be expressed in eternal present tense. Also, can you remember to link me to that policy you described before? King Zeal (talk) 21:30, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

- Yes. I will link it soon. I remember that the policy was often quoted to me by editors in BOW, I gave the ending away a lot and have since learned my lesson. I'm just looking for it right now...LOTRrules (talk) 21:32, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is not a game guide - I checked out the policy and you were right about present tense. However I still think plot details that big and to dedicate an entire section to the ending makes the article look tedious. the endings are explained throughout the plot. Most of the info given on ending was a sort of game-guide. LOTRrules (talk) 21:44, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lei_Wulong Other characters like this one have these trivia sections which are discouraged from wikipedia] - I mean how does a referance like "Jackie Chan movie" give encyclopaedic content? LOTRrules (talk) 21:47, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Name
[edit]What does her Japanese name look like? LOTRrules (talk) 23:03, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for sorting that out. LOTRrules (talk) 18:26, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Chain Throws
[edit]Hi, just a note, Nina had her chain throws since tekken 1. Here is a video for reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jx3UCPf6wbo&t=217 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Drlpandren (talk • contribs) 21:31, 15 September 2018 (UTC)

Fighting Style
[edit]Nina's throws and counters are Aikido and Hapkido based; she doesn't wrestle. Her 1+3 is a Hapkido version of Shiho-Nage, her 2+4 is Izori which is pure Aikido/Hapkido, her df1+3 is pure Aikido/Hapkido Juji-Nage, her df2+4 is Koppo, her left side throw is pure Aikido Kaiten-Nage (to a T), right side is a Hapkido throw, back throw is Koppo, df,df1 is a Hapkido technique. Her counters, besides her chain throw, are all Aikido based; punch is a Shiho-Nage to a punch, she has a Kote-Gaeshi as a hidden reversal. Leavibg out the fact that her mother was cannonically an Aikido master shouldn't be ignored, it's obviously in her moveset. Ju-jitsu doesn't have the same type of throws as Hapkidio/Aikido and it even states her style is Aikdo/Koppo. source - https://tekken.fandom.com/wiki/Nina_Williams
What's the deal? I'd like to edit out all the Jujitsu and put in Hapikdo which is by far the closest martial art to what she uses. 2603:8000:C33E:11B:9879:8D58:B929:8D21 (talk) 01:55, 6 July 2023 (UTC)
